Dance and Drama
Students learn techniques in different disciplines of dance such as: modern jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre and contemporary dance. Students will have a chance to showcase and choreograph their own dance works.
There is a dance extension class available for those juniors with at least one year dance tuition. Dance is available as an NCEA subject at Years 11-13. The school also has several dance troupes that compete in competitions, and is a regular participant in Stage Challenge.
In drama, students learn how to use drama conventions, techniques and technologies to create imagined worlds. Through purposeful play, both individual and collaborative, students discover how to link imagination, thoughts and feelings.
As students work with drama techniques, they learn to use spoken and written language with confidence to communicate effectively using body language, movement and space.
